This article is more than 10 years old.

You wouldn't think Rob Gronkowski would need any protection after having a record-breaking season with the New England Patriots last year, but the tight end isn't taking any chances. He has inked a deal with BodyArmor SuperDrink, it was announced Tuesday, padding his body and his wallet.

"I'm constantly focused on fitness and working out, so I'm obsessed with getting the best nutrition and hydration into my system," Gronkowski said in a press release. "I'm blown away by the benefits that BODYARMOR packs into each bottle while having great taste. There is nothing else out there like this."

The official BodyArmor SuperDrink Facebook page lists Gronkowski as a partner and investor, and he was listed in the official press release as a partner in a "multi-dimensional agreement." A BodyArmor rep confirmed that Gronkowski's role with the nutritional sports drink could include product testing, charitable support, regional and community events, and national advertising.

Founded in the summer of 2011, the BodyArmor SuperDrink has quickly grown. The unique partnership endorsement from Gronkowski is promising, but the brand is also spearheaded by Lance Collins -- who created Fuze and Nos before selling it to Coca-Cola -- and Mike Repole -- who was leading Vitamin Water before its sale to Coca-Cola.

The deal, penned with undisclosed financial details, is the newest endorsement for Gronkowski after his visibility skyrocketed following his standout 2011 campaign on the field. In February he joined the Six Star Pro Nutrition family, and began endorsing Dunkin Donuts in March. This summer he searched for a girlfriend on "The Choice" and was nominated for two ESPY awards.

He has a TV show in the works, and he and his brothers are also ambassadors for the ever-fun brand Zubaz.

Piece by piece, the entire world is being Gronk'd.

Gronkowski signed a six-year, $54 million ($18 million guaranteed) extension with the Patriots this offseason, marking the richest contract for a tight end in NFL history. He had a phenomenal sophomore campaign with the Patriots in 2011, setting many records along the way. Not only did he have the most overall touchdowns (18) and touchdown receptions by a tight end in a season (17), but he also racked up the most receiving yards by tight end in a season (1,327) and was the youngest player to have three touchdown receptions in a game at 22 years, 275 days.
