Amid the wind and flooding from hurricane Sandy overnight in Manhattan, ConEd reported an explosion a power station on 14th Street in Manhattan. A camera across the East River captured the flash:
As of 5 AM Tuesday, all of Manhattan below 39th Street remained without power.
