As part of the brand's bid to get little girls interested in science and engineering, GoldieBlox worked with the Macy’s Parade Studio to design a whimsical marvel of a float they’re calling The Girl-Powered Spinning Machine.
It’ll be manned on the day by kids, who’ll be throwing their weight behind pulleys, rotating giant pinwheels and peddling a bicycle to turn the float's gears, all to showcase the principles of engineering and technology.
GoldieBlox founder Debbie Sterling gave Forbes an exclusive preview at Macy's Parade Studio in Moonachie, NJ, where the fledgling toy company's float was constructed alongside those of larger established brands and characters. (Watch the video closely for an early look at a gigantic Paddington Bear balloon and a Pirate's Booty pirate ship float, among others.)
