The Top Employers Hiring In 25 Major Metro Areas

The most recent Employment Outlook report from job search aggregator SimplyHired contains a lot of good news for those seeking healthcare and finance jobs in major metros.

To determine the top employers hiring in each of 25 major metropolitan areas, SimplyHired looked at data from monthly job listings on the site, pulled from thousands of employment sites across the web. The metro areas listed are culled from the 50 most populous in America, as ranked by the Nielsen Company’s Designated Market Area list.

Healthcare-related companies dominate the list of employers posting the most opportunities in top metros, including companies like WellStar Health System, Advocate Health Care, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and Centura Health.

In fact, health care providers and medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer Johnson & Johnson took the number one spot in the top five most populous metros, and nearly one half of the companies with the most posted jobs overall in September were from this industry.

Financial services organizations, including giants Bank of America , Wells Fargo , and JP Morgan Chase , were also well-represented--some in more than one region--as were educational institutions like the University of Southern California, the University of Washington, and Miami Dade College, while mega-retailers Target, Lowe's, and Nike found their way into the top five hiring employers in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Charlotte, and Portland.
