Are Video Games Good For Us? [Infographic]

This article is more than 7 years old.

Video games are becoming a large part of our everyday lives.  Whether your are playing Call of Duty on your Xbox or Candy Crush on your phone, games and gamers seem to be everywhere.  Are these games having a positive impact on us or a negative one?  When we take time out of our day to play a game or two are we doing something that benefits us or are we simply wasting our time.

In a recent study adults were asked their opinions on a few issues related to video games.  They were asked questions like "Are video games a waste of time?" and "Are video games a better form of entertainment than TV?".  When answering they were able to choose from four different answers.  They could answer "True for most games", "True for some games but not others", "Not true for most games", and "unsure".  The study was able to break things down a little further by separating the answers of Gamers and Non-gamers. The results were pretty surprising in some cases.

Most surprising were the results to the question "Are women portrayed poorly in video games?"

Below is an infographic with the results.
