Job seekers on the hunt for work in the healthcare and professional services industries will find lots of good news this quarter in the country's largest metros.
To determine the top employers hiring in each of 25 major metropolitan areas, SimplyHired looked at data from monthly job listings on the site, pulled from thousands of employment sites across the web. The metro areas listed are culled from the 50 most populous in America, as ranked by the Nielsen Company’s Designated Market Area list.
Yet again, healthcare providers dominate the markets of most of these cities, with employers like Kaiser Permanente,Emory Healthcare, and Boston Medical Center all making the list.
Financial and professional services companies also made a strong showing. Deloitte was one of the top hiring employers in several of these metro areas, including Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Cleveland and Akron, and Dallas and Fort Worth. PwC, U.S. Bank, and JP Morgan Chase also make the list.
A few of the top hiring companies are predictable by industry and geography. In Detroit, General Motors, Chrysler, and Henry Ford Healthcare are among the top hiring employers, while in New York, JP Morgan Chase, PwC, and Deloitte are among those companies currently seeking the most talent.
Consumer favorites Target, Panera, Nike, and Petsmart are also among those companies currently on the hunt for staff.
