The Mystery Deepens In New 'Halo 5' Launch Trailer

The latest Halo 5: Guardians TV spot aired during last night's episode of Fear the Walking Dead. (Read my review of that episode here.)

In the last TV commercial for the game, the government pronounced long-time series protagonist Master Chief dead.

In this latest spot, we see another side of the story. Master Chief is alive, but he's Public Enemy No. 1. Somehow, John 117 has gone from galactic super hero to terrorist, and the government is covering it up.

Of course, we know Master Chief is still the good guy and there's some nefarious, cowardly reason that he's being framed and outcast. It's the sort of great drama we've seen in films like The Fugitive and Enemy of the State. Hopefully it works in what's been a more traditionally black and white universe.

Either way, the mystery deepens. Check it out:
