Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Macklemore And More Red Carpet At The 2014 Grammy Awards

This article is more than 10 years old.

You never know what to expect from the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, which makes it all the more pleasurable to watch because you're guaranteed that it won't be a boring affair. Skin is always in at this music ceremony thanks to the likes of Jennifer Lopez and her cohorts. At this year's Grammy Awards, Beyonce ruled the best dressed game – she skipped the red carpet — in a see-through, barely there dress in white lace and nude illusion from Michael Costello. A dress that was rather exquisite if a bit reminiscent of the work of Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy.

Some came to the Grammy's and delivered glitz and glam like Taylor Swift in a shimmering silver confection from Gucci. A pregnant Ciara looked golden in an ornate Pucci dress with slight boho chic elements.

Of course it is not the Grammy Awards without the over the top frocks, the next to nothing dresses and the completely questionable choices. Katy Perry rocked a fresh off the runway Valentino Couture sheer gown with musical notes on the skirt inspired by the opera La Traviata. Ashanti opted for a mini-dress with all sorts of detailing. The usually gutsy Pink showed up in a strapless mermaid dress that looked like two awards ceremonies too late.

Madonna and Yoko Ono showed everyone that they wear the pants. Madonna wore an elegant double-breasted pantsuit from Ralph Lauren replete with a walking stick and hat.

On the men's side Ryan Lewis and Macklemore looked like fashion guys in their outfits. Lewis in a silk houndstooth suit and Macklemore in a teal velvet tuxedo. These were the kind of  clothes that looked like they weren't found at a thrift shop. And Miguel looked like he belonged to the Grammy's with his skin tight patent leather pants, boots, relaxed shirt and tailored jacket. All in black of course.
