Earnings for C.R. Bard Expected to Fall

Analysts expect decreased profit for CR Bard when the company reports its third quarter results on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Although C.R reported profit of $1.64 a year ago, the consensus estimate calls for earnings per share of $1.39.

The consensus estimate has dipped over the past three months from $1.62. Analysts are projecting earnings of $5.94 per share for the fiscal year. Revenue is expected to be $739.1 million for the quarter, 2% higher than the year-earlier total of $722.9 million. For the year, revenue is expected to come in at $3.03 billion.

The company has seen improved revenue in the last two quarters. In the most recent quarter, revenue rose 5% year-over-year to $759.9 million. The quarter before that, it rose 1%.

C.R's loss in the last quarter came after two previous quarters of profit.
