After starting Interscope Records in 1990, Iovine branched from rock into hip-hop, breathing mainstream life into the careers of Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre. But it was the Beats By Dr. Dre headphone line,and later the Beats Music streaming service, that provided the biggest boost tohis net worth. The duo founded the company in 2008 and sold it to Apple last year for a whopping $3 billion, of which he pocketed roughly a quarter before taxes.
