On the twenty-eighth floor of The Park Avenue Court, a long corridor leading to dramatic, sweeping views of New York City welcomes a Persian family home each day. Rooms filled with Macassar Ebony arch openings and walnut floors and doors, framed by Venetian plaster finished walls, this Park Avenue apartment reflects a “sense of sophistication, warmth and opulence, without being too ornate,” according to the architect Dean Maltz.

The rich materials combined with high ceilings and elegant architecture evokes a richness in the atmosphere equivalent of what Maltz calls, “a modern Sultan’s Palace.”

This $3.2 million apartment on Park Avenue consists of an entry hall, living room, dining room with smoking area, kitchen, bar, family room, master bedroom, bath, and closet, as well as a play area, two children’s bedrooms, bathroom, guest room and powder room. In an effort to expand a space to accommodate the Persian couple and their two children, Maltz combined two units into one 4,000-square-foot glamorous apartment.

On entering this exquisite home, a lit sculpture surrounded by Macassar Ebony complements a series of Macassar Ebony arch openings that lead to continuous views of the city through large 8 feet by 12 feet windows. Freestanding furniture and theatrical lighting punctuate the architectural elements completing the palatial apartment.
