Inside Former Bachelorette Jillian Harris' Canadian Dream Home

This article is more than 8 years old.

As a former Bachelor contestant and Bachelorette, Canadian sweetheart Jillian Harris has most recently made a name for herself as an interior designer and decorator. As the current host for Love It or List It Vancouver and Love It or List It, Too, Jillian has dedicated her life to television and entertainment, but designing her Kelowna home is where her heart resides.

“I’ve always wanted a household that people felt like was home,” says Jillian as she scolds her dog Nacho for impatiently whining for his breakfast. Putting family first, Jillian’s abode on Okanagan Lake is home to partner Justin Pasutto, Nacho, and nightly guests. “We have a sleepover with somebody almost every night,” says Jillian. With her love for design, Jillian’s priority has been to invest in her home so that she always has a space to call her own. But, her dream home wasn’t exactly the happily ever after she was looking for when she moved into the 2,500-square-foot rancher.

With a broken in-floor heating system, roof replacement, new walls, doors and lighting, Jillian took on the challenge of renovating her broken home into a functional and embellished space. “It’s like buying a new pair of shoes, it’s worth the peace of mind to invest extra money and having no regrets,” says Jillian. With the help of her cousin Charles who runs CW Persona, Jillian designed her dream home by creating a chic and stylish space where she could both socialize, and take a break from reality.

An all-white kitchen extends throughout the main room with vintage chandeliers and hand-scraped oak floors, for a bright and airy modern take on design. From the “pink palace” guest room to incorporating antique art, feminine touches anchor this home’s design. While Jillian’s home renovation was a massive physical and emotional investment, the result of her Kelowna residence is a picturesque sanctuary that she will love for years to come.
