The 10 Biggest U.S. Venture Capital Exits Of 2014 [Infographic]

According to a report from CB Insights, 2014 was a huge year for venture capital funding in the United States. $47.3 billion was invested in 3,617 deals, a massive 62 percent increase on 2013. Deal growth was much more modest but still saw a year over year increase of 8 percent.

Last year, the tech sector accounted for nearly three out of every four venture capital deals and it certainly shows on the following infographic. Facebook's acquisition of WhatsApp was the largest venture-backed exit of 2014 by a huge distance, valued at $22 billion.

Lending Club's IPO in December 2014 was valued at $5.4 billion with Zayo Group Holdings completing the top three with a $4.4 billion exit. Altogether the top 10 exits of 2014 brought in over $48.5 billion.
